Summary

A non-inverting op-amp is used in the circuit configuration which is designed to have a gain of 2, since RF=RI. This means that for every input voltage, the output voltage will be twice the value of the input voltage. The equation below shows this relation:

VO=[(RF/RI)+1]VI

This operational amplifier can be used to drive a DC motor. It controls its speed of rotation. Its rotation depends on the polarity of the input signal. When the supply is either positive or negative , the output of the op-amp still supplies voltage to the motor because of the function of the transistor.
