This circuit is a simple current sensor with portable power supply like battery. It features no phase reversal and it has stable unity gain of which it addresses the two most common problems on operational and instrumentation amplifiers.
The design is comprised of MCP606 component, which is a micropower CMOS operational amplifier that can handle 2.5V to 6V power supply voltage. The 10Ω resistor at non-inverting input is used to monitor the current passing through the circuit and the inverting input has voltage divider resistor configuration with respect to the output.
The design is suitable for low power current sensing applications, which is common to strain gauges, battery-powered instruments, medical instruments, test equipment, high impedance applications, and other general-purpose applications.
