Low power Configurable Logic as a multi-purpose PWM Controller
Four AXP1G57GM configurable logic devices and RS flip flops from NXP along with on board RC network are used in this application to produce the signals with duty cycles of 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100% with very low power consumption. The circuit can be used as 6-state LED blinker to indicate the charge level of a battery when it is being charged from empty to full, including a fault condition. 5 speed motor controller is another use for applications like toys, electric cars, hair dryers, vacuums etc. When used as three position RC servo motor control circuit, it can be used as a remote control for toys and central locking systems. A good audio application would be to generate the audio signals of different pulse widths by using push buttons and generating unique tones for doorbell that can be used as an example for identification of a visitor at door. A linear PWM signal as produced by this circuit can also be used to control the brightness of LED, 100% duty cycle for full lit LED, 75%, 50% and 0% for lower brightness levels.
