Simple transistor/function generator amp
Created: Aug 04, 2018
Looking for a simple way to amplify the power output of your function generator? This little circuit will do the trick!
The circuit uses a square wave signal from a function generator to trigger a transistor, causing a pulsed DC current from a bench power supply to traverse the circuit.
The transistor is a TIP51, which can handle an impressive 250V@3A, allowing you to switch a lot of power.
I included an primary inductor in the schematic, since I use this circuit to amplify the input of my Tesla Coils.
