The design is for vehicle safekeeping. It reduces car napping incidents and secure passengers while they are on public buses and other types of public vehicle for transportation. It can also locate a vehicle around the globe in less than a minute as long as it is accessible of GPS and GSM technology.
The design system is comprised of a microcontroller that serves as a main component to process data. It is supplied by a three-terminal positive regulator with 5V output. The MAX232 dual driver/receiver serves as a bridge between the microcontroller and GSM+GPS interface. It uses RS232-protocol for serial communication and it is also used for converting TTL voltage levels to RS232 voltage levels. The EEPROM is used to store mobile number for tracking operation. The system automatically sends a return reply to the mobile indicating the position of the vehicle in terms of latitude and longitude when a request from a user is sent to the number used in the modem. The pin 32 of the microcontroller is used to store mobile number in the EEPROM device (Assuming that the code of instruction is already in the microcontroller, S2 is triggered and waits until the number is stored).
It is an excellent project. It can provide both security and ease of vehicle management. It can also be used by the Authorities to solve criminal cases.
