Power supply nowadays are used in almost every electronic device that requires a DC supply for it to serve its purpose. The DC voltage output is from a step-down AC transformer that is rectified by a bridge circuit, but this dc output still needs to be filtered. After its been filtered, the voltage rating is regulated using LM7815 and LM7915 with LED indicators connected unto them.

This circuit comprises of 15-0-15 AC @350mA step-down Transformer, bridge rectifier, and LM7815 and LM7915. The step-down transformer lowers the voltage rating to desired level. The bridge rectifier converts the AC voltage to DC. LM7815 is used to regulate the upper half-wave rectification output of the bridge rectifier. LM7915 regulates the lower half-wave rectification output of the bridge. Some capacitors are used to filter the noise from the regulated rectified DC voltage, with dual output LED indication if the circuit is working .

This power supply has been designed for audio applications and has a symmetric +/-12 VDC output. It can power up microphone pre-amplifier, audio buffers, audio mixer, distributions amplifier, headphone amplifier, VU meter and few other equipment or projects required dual supply.
