Solar Panels are devices that convert light into electricity. There are cases that the efficiency of Solar Panels are low due to the direction of the sun that causes lack of light intensity. To improve the efficiency of the Solar Panel, the Sun Tracking device tracks and follows the Sun’s light rays.
The Sun Tracking Solar Panel is consist of a microcontroller (MC9RS08KB12CFK) interface with LDRs (Light Detecting Resistors), Stepper Motor, Driver Motor IC, and a Solar Panel. The resistance of LDR decreases when the light of the sun strikes on the LDR. When light strikes on L1, the panels rotate counterclockwise and panels rotate clockwise when light strikes on L2. If the light hits both L1 and L2, the panel will not move. The Stepper Motor is responsible for the rotation of the Solar Panel in a certain angle. Since motors generate back EMF, the Driver Motor IC is connected to protect the microcontroller from back EMF.
Solar Panels can be used to power appliances, streetlights etc. The Sun Tracking Solar Panel gives more efficient energy because it automatically tracks and rotates towards the sunlight. Solar Panels need more light intensity to absorb energy.
